Asfolt with our friends at Retrograde Classics participated in the BajaXL (LA to Cabo and back to LA) in our 1987 Porsche 924S that we modified slightly. Our best modification was the added skid plate which took a beating for over 4000km and the limited slip we installed. Our Baja 924S performed great and even surprised us with its capabilities. Special thanks to our friends at Avant Garde Collection for their support and help in the build plus House Industries for repairing a radiator house that we were nursing on the trip back from Cabo. An amazing experience and we were also able to raise almost $5,000 to the Corazon de Vida Foundation and Cardiostart. Looking forward to doing it again in 2021!

What do you do when a good friend comes up to visit from the Bay, decides to move to Portland and leases a house on the same day... you get out and drive! Always fun changing the perspective, allowing someone else to drive and sitting in the passenger seat of Project Asfolt. A short but enjoying way to end the day.

For this first time this year, Asfolt had a table at the LA Lit & Toy Show at the LAX Hilton on Saturday March 3rd. Stoddard, the event organizer, did a great job of bringing together an eclectic mix of people, cars, and open houses. I had the opportunity to talk with a number of people that stopped by my table and look forward to doing it again next year!

I just returned from one last trip to Hong Kong before the end of the year. I had productive meetings with a couple of our partners that have both been in the business for more than 30 years. Excited about kicking off some new projects for next year while also focusing on a simple and much needed product that I will produce locally in Portland, OR. These trips always energize me. They provide inspiration and the fuel to hit the ground running when I'm back home. Stay tuned for updates on new products.

Asfolt Launch

Asfolt was created from the pure desire to have custom parts for a backdate build I started almost two years ago with Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport Racing. As we all know, you can spend endless hours diving deep into engine mods, paint schemes, seats. Basically, any component. Luckily with Jeff there was zero doubt about the performance since Rothsport builds are Engineered to be Driven. However, I couldn't find simple components so I set out to design and machine my own. The initial assortment of products are machined parts that replace the cheaper plastic OEM parts but I'm working on additional products. Products that balance both form and function. Simple, quality products that enhance the driving experience. Accessory items that connect both physically and emotionally to what we all love to do. Some people mediate. Some people drive. We're Asfolt. We Drive.
